Discover how we went from making popcorn in our home to bringing you the best tasting better-for-you snacks

Let’s begin!

Humble beginnings

It all began in 2004 when our founders were looking for a healthy snack. Finding nothing on the market that satisfied, they started experimenting in their family kitchen and road-testing on their kids. After many late nights and burnt saucepans, they got it right and Cobs Popcorn was born. Here is an image of the original pan that the first batch of Cobs Popcorn was made in.

First batch

From the first batch, our principles have remained the same. Delicious, honest & better for you snacks. Our first product to go into production was our Original Organic Lightly Salted Slightly Sweet Popcorn. We used quality ingredients, just as you would at home, and a unique balance of corn, raw sugar and sea salt to create this mouth-watering popcorn.

Pop to it!

It wasn’t long before our Organic range grew and we also launched our Natural Popcorn range. With so many delicious flavours, the hardest part is choosing which popcorn flavour bag to open first…

In 2018, we moved to our factory in Dandenong South, Victoria, with our Cobs family. This is where all the magic happens!

2019

Better for you

We are on a mission to bring Aussie’s the tastiest better-for-you snacks. So, we decided we couldn’t stop at popcorn. In 2019, we launched our Cobs Pop’d Chips, Corn Puffs, and Ancient Grain Corn Chips ranges. All of our products are gluten free, made with natural ingredients, contain the goodness of high oleic sunflower oil and are produced in a nut free facility.
